Our Guest Panel:

James Cryan - James is the Founder and Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Prep Charter School (RMP), a rigorous and joyful high-performing urban elementary school, whose vision is to close the opportunity gap in public education. RMP is pioneering an innovative blended-learning model with a clear focus on rigorous academics, character development and individualized support for its scholars. Prior to founding RMP, James was a charter corps member of Teach for America: Colorado and a Get Smart Schools Fellow.

Elizabeth Davis - Elizabeth began her career in Education in 1985 and made the switch to online education in 2003 at Branson School Online in Branson, Colorado.  She is a long-time advocate of parent choices and multiple options for every student's education. Her experience includes online teaching, online teacher training, curriculum development, and the evaluation of online school proposals. She currently serves as the Principal of the Colorado Calvert Academy, a multi-district virtual k-8 school.

Jeremy Tarbutton- Jeremy is a middle school math teacher at the Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST), a public charter school, and has also served as the Staff Recruitment Coordinator for DSST. He taught 8th grade science in Houston as a Teach for America corps member and served as science department chair, as well as being a coach for basketball, track, and cross-country. While teaching in Houston, he was the recipient of the KBR Science Teacher of the Year award and was chosen as the Alternative Certification Program Intern of the Year.

Melissa Christensen- Melissa is the Elementary School Assistant Principal at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, Colorado and is a frequent consultant for The Center for Professional Development.  She has over 10 years of elementary classroom teaching experience, including teaching kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and math intervention.  Ms. Christensen is an integral member of the administrative leadership team and assists in leading Peak to Peak’s state approved Induction Program.
