“The world’s problems often seem hopeless and overwhelming to our students. This project would empower them to realize that solutions are possible through invention, collaboration and critical-thinking.,” wrote Ms. Mundt in her application.

The funds will be used to fund a project through which students will learn about environmental science, and culminate in creating and testing solar powered cars.

“PACE is excited every year to award scholarships and grants to such worthy recipients,” stated membership director Charity Smith. “We are so grateful for Colorado’s dedicated educators, and students will benefit the most as these teachers receive new resources for the classroom.”

PACE provides thousands of dollars for scholarships and classroom grants to Colorado teachers each year.  Classroom grants help pay for class projects and supplies, and scholarships are used to cover a wide variety of expenses including tuition, books, conferences, and workshops for teachers.  The next application deadline is October 1, 2015.
